Steve Sandweiss | Seattle, Bellevue, Tacoma

Steve Sandweiss has been helping students prepare for entrance exams for college, grad school, law school, and business school since 1991. For seven years he worked for Kaplan, the nation’s largest test prep organization. In 1998, he decided that he could offer better quality courses at more affordable prices to Seattle-area students, and formed Sandweiss Test Prep. He felt it was important to provide smaller class sizes and opportunities for individual attention for students to fully realize their test-taking potential.

Steve teaches the SAT, ACT, GMAT, GRE, ISEE, SSAT, and LSAT, as well as SAT Subject Tests in English Lit., World History and U.S. History and general school subjects including AP and IB courses in history, English and government/political science.  He also specializes in providing college application essay assistance.

Andee Liljegren | Seattle, Bellevue

Andee has a long history of working with children dating back to her middle-school babysitting days. She realized her passion for tutoring during routine homework help and quickly expanded her range of subjects offered to include higher level courses and viola lessons.

After graduating high-school with her Associate’s Degree, Andee attended the University of Washington where she obtained a BS in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. During her time at UW she tutored various STEM subjects including Physics, Molecular Biology, and Calculus. Andee is currently working as both a tutor and as a nursing assistant at a local assisted living facility while she studies for her medical school entrance exam.

In her free time, Andee is likely to be found engaged in one of three activities: hiking with her German Shepherd, desperately trying to improve her watercolor skills to seemingly no avail, or buying excessive quantities of plants on sale to indulge her green thumb.

Andee teaches SAT, SSAT, ISEE, AP Stats, and SAT Subject Tests in Biology, Chemistry, and Math (1 & 2).

Matt Schulz | Seattle, Bellevue

Matt Schulz graduated from the Iowa Writer’s Workshop with an MFA in Poetry and he holds a BA in English from the University of Washington. He has over eight years’ experience teaching test prep for a variety of tests including the SAT, the ACT, and the TOEFL, and has also taught undergraduate Literature and Composition courses at the University of Iowa. Additionally, during his two-year stay in graduate
school, he had the privilege of leading undergraduate creative writing studios through the Workshop. If he’s not teaching, you might find him on a tennis court or underneath a blanket, agonizing over a preposition.

Matt teaches SAT/ACT, SSAT/ISEE, AP Literature, and the SAT Literature Subject Test.

Darin Arbogast | Seattle, Bellevue

Darin has been conducting STEM classes and tutoring for the Seattle home-school community for the past 5 years. He enjoys the mental challenge of a good problem, and you’ll often see him indulging in logic games and puzzles. While teaching allows him to share this enjoyment, he finds collaborating with his students in refining the problem-solving process even more rewarding.

Until very recently, Darin was an aerospace engineer with numerous patents and technical publications on his resume. Prior to his time in industry, Darin served as an instructor and lecturer of Modern Physics and Electrical Engineering at Montana State University. He holds a MS in Physics from Montana State University and a BS in Physics from Southern Oregon University.

Aside from teaching, Darin played lead-guitar in a local band for several years in his 20’s. You can still find him on stage (and backstage) in several musical theater productions each year. He also has expertise in pre-industrial woodworking techniques, embedded systems, and robotics.

Darin teaches SAT, ACT, SSAT, ISEE, SAT Subject Tests in Math (1 & 2), Physics and Chemistry, and he also tutors all levels of high school math, including AP/IB courses in algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, Calculus AB and Calculus BC.
